Making Proper Preparation To Receive God

Media_httpgallerymail_adifc

In addition to the fast, we should be focused on the need to be purified to receive our God. Frequent Confession is necessary! The following thoughts will help as you follow and participate in the mystical suffering and death of our Lord for your sins during the Offertory at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Lord, you know I am guilty of many sins and how many wounds I have opened in Your loving Heart. You know how much pain I have caused You. I beg pardon and I ask You to purify me that You may find a worthy dwelling for Yourself! I dare to approach You because of my boundless confidence in Your infinite Mercy and Love!

I also ask You to illuminate me. Please give me the light and understanding of the unfathomable wonder of receiving You, my God and Creator, in Holy Communion. How is it Lord we can prepare so little for the greatest event we will ever do....to receive the God of the universe into our very being and have you wait for the Love you seek...the love for which you created us. Lord, help me give You this love...help me give You Your own love in return!

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
