From Opus Bono Sacerdotii : The Injustice!

Work for the Good of the Priesthood

Below is an email our president Joe Maher received from a priest:

“Hello Joe,
The Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese just found me not guilty of the accusation, but I will not be returned to active ministry. Such injustice! They tried their best to convict me, but couldn’t do it, and are rather angry about it; nevertheless, I am acquitted of that ridiculous charge. What is, however, particularly sad about the whole thing is that it took the Archdiocese almost fourteen years to conclude the investigation and trial.
The one thing that came from this debacle: I went to law school and became an attorney so I could provide for myself after they cut me off of support a few years ago. Will wonders never cease!
My practice is not yet flourishing, so I can’t send you anything, but when I can, I certainly will. You have done so much for me and so many other of my brothers who are hurting.
In the meantime, you have my prayers, I really need prayers for me!
Peace,
Fr. John”
Please pray for Father John today and please forward this email and ask others to pray for him. Thank you.

God Bless,
Pete Ferrara
Treasurer
