The Feast of the Annunciation

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! In this time of grace I call you to take the cross of my beloved Son Jesus in your hands and to meditate on His passion and death. May your suffering be united in His suffering and love will win, because He who is love gave Himself out of love to save each of you. Pray, pray, pray until love and peace begin to reign in your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call." (March 25, 2013)

Today we expect to receive a message from Our Lady through Marija. This is a great feast day, the Annunciation. It is the day we remember Our Lady's "Fiat" to the Father: "Be it done unto me according to your word." Mother Mary accepted the Father's invitation to become the Mother of His Son, with complete trust, love and peace. She entrusted herself to the Father's care, and began the long journey through life with Jesus.

Our Lady journeyed through her early pregnancy when she could give no answer to her relatives about the origin of this child in her womb. She journeyed to Elizabeth's home, where the two women shared the joy of God's plan for their children, by the power of the Holy Spirit. She journeyed home to find Joseph ready to take her to his home, having been instructed by the Father to do so. Then she and Joseph journeyed to Bethlehem where the Savior was born in a cave.

She journeyed to and from Egypt with Joseph and Jesus, escaping Herod's bloodthirsty plan. She journeyed to Nazareth, where family life continued in relative peace as Jesus grew. She and Joseph and Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem where Jesus was lost for three days. And then home again for Jesus' young adult years. She journeyed through Joseph's death with Jesus.

She then journeyed to Cana, where Jesus' public life began. Mary followed Jesus in His public ministry, helping Him in any way she could. But the journey finally culminated on Calvary, where her beautiful, beloved Son was brutally tortured and hung upon the Cross to die. It was there that Our Lady's "Fiat" was tried the most...and held. She said "yes" to the Father, even there. Thanks be to God, she could say "yes" even there.

And in this message from last March 25, Our Lady offered to us that very Cross upon which her Son died, as a source of strength and salvation for each of us.  "In this time of grace I call you to take the cross of my beloved Son Jesus in your hands and to meditate on His passion and death." She offered the Crucifix, asking us to take it in our hands and meditate upon it. Why? So that we could behold the love of her Son, Jesus, expressed in His death for us and unite our suffering to His, and that peace and love could begin to reign in us. She offered us her Son as our way out of all evil, out of all suffering, out of all death. She offered to us the Cross upon which hung the Savior of the world! "Pray, pray, pray until peace and love begin to reign in your hearts."

May we receive Our Lady's message today with open hearts. May we make our own "Fiats" to the Father, so that we can help Our Lady to give her Son to others as their Savior as well. May we join her in her trust and obedient love of the Father! May we journey with Our Lady!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
