Dear Children of Medjugorje, praised be Jesus and Mary!

1. On November 2, 2014, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross in the presence of a great crowd who came for the celebration of All Saints' Day. After the apparition, Mirjana gave the following message:
"Dear children, I am with you with the blessing of my Son, with you who love me and who strive to follow me. I also desire to be with you who do not accept me. To all of you I am opening my heart full of love and I am blessing you with my motherly hands. I am a mother who understands you. I lived your life and lived through your sufferings and joys. You who are living the pain understand my pain and suffering because of those of my children who do not permit the light of my Son to illuminate them; those of my children who are living in darkness. This is why I need you - you who have been illuminated by the light and have comprehended the truth. I am calling you to adore my Son so that your soul may grow and reach true spirituality. My apostles, it is then that you will be able to help me. To help me means to pray for those who have not come to know the love of my Son. In praying for them you are showing to my Son that you love Him and follow Him. My Son promised me that evil will never win, because you, the souls of the just, are here; you who strive to say your prayers with the heart; you who offer your pain and suffering to my Son; you who comprehend that life is only a blink; you who yearn for the Kingdom of Heaven. All of this makes you my apostles and leads you towards the victory of my heart. Therefore, my children, purify your hearts and adore my Son. Thank you."
2. On November 24th we will celebrate the 14th anniversary of Father Slavko Barbaric's birth in heaven.
His testimony on Mary's messages brought the love of our Heavenly Father, peace and hope to so many people! A pilgrim, Maura Boyle MacNally wrote a doctoral thesis on the Theology of Hope, using Fr. Slavko's life as an example of 'hope' in action. Here are a few words that she collected from him:
When asked how we can change the way Our Lady wants he said, "It is necessary to start new every day. Don't carry yesterday in your heart, it is gone. Start new every day, with small steps. We can choose to accept the cross and it doesn't mean that it won't become too heavy. But we still continue doing it and accepting it and working at it. God will help us in that. It is a choice."
Speaking to a lady who was tired he said, "Take your rest as you need, then don't waste any second for nothing, use every second for something."
Another time he inspired us by saying, "I want you to go into nature, to go into nature means to go to God. When you are under stress, nature will help you, the green color of nature is calming, the sounds are soothing, nature has this gift to make us more relaxed. When we discover the beauty in creation we will discover the beauty in ourselves too."
He also said, "The will of God is only what is good for us. Even when we suffer, there is a reason for it, even if we never discover what it is."

On prayer he said, "Don't wait until you feel like praying, just do it, decide... and then do it how you can."
3. November is the month of the deceased and also of the Saints! What should we do to become a saint? God puts saints in our path, and their examples inspire and cheer us. Here is a powerful example of the love of one's neighbor that bore fruit:

It is the story of Bishop Myriel in Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. What Hugo tells us in his novel is history. Jean Valjean came back from Guyana where he had paid his debt of 19 years as a forced labor convict. He arrived in France in the city of Digne. As soon as the population heard about his arrival, all the doors closed. He was preparing to spend the night under the stars when an old woman saw him and asked him, "What are you doing here?"  "Can't you see?", he answered. "nobody wants to put me up, even though I have enough money to pay." The woman told him, "Nobody? Go and knock at that little house down the street!" Not really convinced, he got up and went to knock at the little house. The bishop of Digne opened the door. Since Jean Valjean was furious and did not want to be misunderstood, he announced, "I am Jean Valjean, and I come back from hard labor."  The bishop stopped him right there. "This is the house of Jesus Christ, and it is your home! Everything is yours." The bishop had given his palace to be made into a hospital, and he lived poorly in the little house. He let Jean come in, and to honor him, he asked the maid to use the silverware that was the only thing left from his family's wealth. He gave him the nicest bedroom and left all doors open. Jean Valjean did not believe his eyes and did not understand.
But in the middle of the night, the picture of the silverware came to him. Moved by an irresistible instinct, he got up, stole it and ran away. But the police had been warned that he was in town, so when he was leaving, they stopped him, checked him and found the silverware engraved with the initials of bishop's family. The next morning he was taken to the bishop. When the policemen showed the silverware to the bishop as the proof that Valjean was a thief, the bishop said, "No, he did not steal them, I gave them to him," and he added two candlesticks.
The policemen left, excusing themselves to the bishop (but not to the former convict). The puzzled Valjean lookedat the bishop who told him, "When you came in this house, I told you that it was the house of Jesus Christ, that you were in your house, and that everything was yours." Jean Valjean burst into tears. He did not need to be told who God was, since God was right there in front of him! He understood that God is love. Then he converted and consecrated the rest of his life to work and help the poor who might be tempted to follow the path he had taken... What a significant example of the role of saints in God's plan! The Creator put in each one of us a great potential for holiness. Why should we miss it? We have only one life on earth!
4. On November 3rd, the parish of Medjugorje played the wonderful movie "Mary Land".

This movie is a real wonder, produced by true disciples of Christ and professional film makers that I was able to meet in Spain recently! Where the movie is shown, people rush in by the hundreds, and they come out changed. Request it to be shown in your city!  www.terradimaria.it

5. Good news for the friends of the French mystic Marta Robin (1902-1981) !

On November 7, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith proclaimed her "Venerable", recognizing her heroic virtues. This is a wonderful step toward beatification! Here is the link:
Dearest Gospa,  Mother and Queen of Peace, we beg you, remove from our hearts any fear of the future, and any anxiety when facing death. That the love of your son to take its place there, in our hearts.
