Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Also today, in my arms I am carrying my Son Jesus to you and I am asking from Him peace for you and peace among you. Pray to and adore my Son for His peace and joy to enter into your hearts. I am praying for you to be all the more open to prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call." (December 25, 2014)

"Pray to and adore my Son for His peace and joy to enter into your hearts."

Our Lady calls us to adore her Son. She has encouraged Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Medjugorje from the beginning. There is no more moving experience than adoring Jesus with thousands of pilgrims, in the night, outside, at the outdoor altar of St. James Church. The union of hearts in adoration of Jesus creates a fire of love so strong that you cannot but be warmed by its heat.

Fr. Slavko wrote a book called "Adore My son with Your Heart." I would like to quote a bit of his introduction. Perhaps our hearts will begin anew to burn with a desire to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament!

] the most fitting of all prayer is Adoration. We have said that prayer can be Godless when, instead of seeking God, we are always seeking things from Him. It is precisely here that Adoration is the exception. As soon as we make time for Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, intending to spend that time 'with Him and for Him', we are seeking Him only because He is there! He is Emmanuel - God with us. We are not seeking Him because He can give us something, or because He is listening to us. From the time we start the prayer of Adoration, we show Him that it is Him whom we are seeking, Him whom we are adoring and praising and Him whom we are blessing and thanking.

Faith and love are the conditions for Adoration. After all, it is not easy for us to stay for a long time with someone whom we do not trust or love. This is also the case in our relationship with God because faith and love grow and develop with one another. When our love increases towards someone, the need for words to understand decreases, thereby, leaving more time for silence. The silence penetrates into the depths of our hearts and souls and, there, reaches that tranquility in God rather than in the things that He created.

The pace of this idolatrous, materialist and Godless time in which we live pushes our hearts far from the presence of God.

Thus, many Christians remain empty and alone or in frightening trials, without hope or enlightenment, or in bitter suffering, without the necessary spiritual nourishment that God gives to us all. It is in this spiritual vacuum that Adoration is urgently needed. To acknowledge God in the heart, to give Him priority, to listen to Him, to find rest in Him, to make conscious offerings to Him, to recognize and identify ourselves in Him - these are all urgent needs for today's Christians. Only through adoration can man recognize God in His people and accept and live with them in love. Thus, a positive relationship develops with God, as Creator, and with oneself as well as with others, as the created.

Many shocking facts tell us that humanity is on the road to destruction and this happens only because it distances itself from God. In turn, this means that we distance ourselves from light and from life, from truth and from love. The human heart cannot accept this condition peacefully and here we find the reason for the existence of so much violence and destruction today.

What happens to a child if it never experiences parental love? The child searches for love in other ways without the necessary discernment as to which are the best ways. In this way, it causes destruction to itself and to those around it. This can also happen to the world. The child is searching for love but, in fact, it drives away others and finds itself in a vicious circle of its own desires, with an ever increasing desire for love that it cannot get from others because they, in turn, feel a need to defend themselves from it. And so they push the child away and do not accept it. Today's world is in danger on many levels because it lacks God and peace in Him so much that it is becoming self-destructive. Only He who created life can again restore that deep desire for life in us and He can do it only when humanity, His creation, again reveres and abandons itself to Him. Only by casting itself into the wonderful light of God's presence, can humanity be saved from its progressive deterioration and be protected from the perils of this world! Only when we do so, can we pray without ceasing, ever glorifying and adoring Him.

In her teachings and in her messages, the Queen of Peace strongly urges that we adore Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

"Tonight also, dear children, I am grateful to you in a special way for being here. Unceasingly adore the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I am always present when the faithful are adoring. Special graces are then being received." (March 15, 1984)

In the book, "Adore My Son with Your Heart," Fr. Slavko shares a series of Adoration prayer sessions. He led the prayer for Adoration for many years in Medjugorje. He opened the way for many pilgrims to learn to adore Jesus. May we all find more and more time for Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. As Fr. Slavko said, we have an urgent need for Adoration in our world today.

And as Our Lady said: "Pray to and adore my Son for His peace and joy to enter into your hearts."

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
