Dear Family of Mary!

"Love always, anew, revives the pain and the joy of the Eucharist, it revives the pain of the Passion of my Son, by which he showed you what it means to love immeasurably; it revives the joy for having left you his body and blood to feed you with himself - and in this way, to be one with you.  (July 2, 2015)

Our Lady understands the union of pain and joy, of sorrow and exultation. She stood under the Cross as her Son hung, dying in excruciating pain, as the price of redemption for all of us. She knew the rejection, gratuitous violence, and tremendous hate that overwhelmed His heart with sorrow, and which pierced her heart with so much pain. But she also knew the incredible joy that could not be stifled, the joy she experienced at the gift hidden in this ghastly moment. It was the gift of forgiveness, of redemption, of eternal life, for all those who would accept it. It was the gift as well of Jesus' Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity that would become our heavenly food, food that would carry us through this life into the next.

This was a moment of pain and joy, Eucharistic joy!

We can only stand in awe at such love. We can only humble ourselves before it. Jesus' love, Mary's love. It is beyond all words to comprehend.

St. Faustina wrote a little poem/prayer about the Eucharist that might be nice to pray today:

Jesus, delight of my soul, Bread of Angels,
My whole being is plunged in You,
And I live Your divine life as do the elect in heaven,
And the reality of this life will not cease, though I be laid in the grave.

                                Jesus-Eucharist, Immortal God,
Who dwell in my heart without cease,
When I possess You, death itself can do me no harm,
Love tells me that I will see You at life's end.

Permeated by Your divine life,
I gaze with assurance at the heavens thrown open for me,
And death will shame-facedly go away, empty-handed,
For Your divine life is contained within my soul.

And although by Your holy will, O Lord,
Death is to touch my body,
I want this dissolution to come as quickly as possible,
For through it I am entering eternal life.

Jesus-Eucharist, life of my soul,
You have raised me up to the eternal spheres,
And this, by Your agony and death midst terrible tortures. (1393 Diary)

May we love You, oh Eucharistic Jesus, with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength! In You, pain and joy meet and we are given new life.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
